Coming up soon ...Wimbledon Common Stables Open Day!

Sunday July 12th 10.30am to 4.30pm - Wimbledon Common Windmill

I think a Franchise customer turned up last year...

Talk at the moment may be the news that Wimbledon have pulled Luton out of the hat for the first game of the season, but there's another date looming with some historic significance for the club. We have been asked to represent the club at the Stables Open Day by Wimbledon Windmill. It's organized by the Commons Conservators and is the brainchild of Senior Keeper Bill Rowland and over the past few years it's growing into quite an event

Bearing in mind the clubs links to the Common - both as the birthplace of the Old Centrals and as the venue for the AFC Wimbledon trials - and the fact the Open Day highlights local charities and organisations, we were very pleased to have been invited on what promises to be a fun day out!

We hope to take along information about the club, the speed-football game and a cut-down i-Dons presence and will be joined by representatives from Merchandising and the Community Football scheme. It's all going to be nice and low-key and a bit of fun in the sun but, although I will have help with the setting up and for the last couple of hours & packing up, I think I may be a bit stretched in the middle!

If there are any Wimbledon supporters in the area who feel they could lend a hand for that awkward 'middle bit' of the day I'd be very relieved to hear from you!

Please leave a comment at the bottom of this post with your contact details. The comments are moderated so I'll note your details and delete them to prevent anything ever appearing. I'll then drop you an email trying vainly to conceal my relief and excitement! If you can't lend a hand then please try to drop by, support the Conservators and say hello on the day .

A full report with pictures will, of course, be appearing after the event...
