So who are the faces behind the donations to our charity, Home Start Merton? And who is putting thier money behind which mascot?
Andrews of Morden get the ball rolling |
Manager Adam has donated £50 to Home Start Merton in the hopes that Pudsey Bear will romp in ahead of other rival agents in the AFC Wimbledon Diamond Jubilee Mascot race on Saturday 2nd June
Adam was first out of the blocks when it came to picking a potential winner and helping struggling young families in Merton. Although Pudsey may not be the fastest mascot around he's probably the best known and we were happy to pick up Andrew's donation on behalf of the charity
GraceMiller & Co are Estate Managers rather than Estate Agents and Director Jon Miller is an occasional visitor to AFC Wimbledon where his son is a season ticket holder. He's recently returned from Munich though where he went to some another of our local teams play some cup game or other... Grace Miller were hoping to include their own mascot in the race but sadly she won't be ready in time so Jon has sportingly decided to sponsor her replacement, Bully from Bullseye!
Andrews are well represented in the Diamond Jubilee Mascot hurdles with Andrews Lettings of Mitcham also joining in the fun!
Lettings Manager Jason Obee is not only hoping that his choice of Haydon the Womble pays dividends but that Haydon at least finishes abover Pudsey, who's being backed by his Morden compatriots! Well Wombles are very good on commons so maybe Mitcham Common will suit him
Toomey Estate Agents are an independent Mitcham agency who are right behind both the race and the local charity it's benefiting.
Directors Kim Teague and Brian Owen decided that Debra the Road Safety Zebra would be a great representative and fitted in well with a charity that helped young families.
The fact that Debra romped home in her first race last year year probably gives them hope for a repeat performance!
Their donation and the donations of all the other estate agents will be most gratefully received I'm sure!
Hold on to your hats for a couple of late entrant in the supporter stakes! Bhavna Desai of Broadway Solicitors in Wimbledon have been long-time supporters of Home Start Merton and were very keen to have their own mascot on the day.
Working on the assumption that the law always wins, Broadway Solicitors are backing PCSO Steve to the hilt and Barbara Cluer, Scheme Manager was happy to collect their donation earlier today.
And finally, coming in to support Home Start Merton at just the right time, we have Gavin Stebbing of accountants MSM based in Wimbledon. Gavin has been aware of the work carried out by the charity for ome time and he's more than ready to back Hendon FC's Monty the Lamb.
There's no time to grab a photo of Gavin with his cheque so here's one of Gavin imagining Monty romping away with the trophy!
