The My Merton magazine was distributed to all homes in the borough this week and it was gratifying to see that the mascot race had a mention on page 4.
I'm not going to kid myself that having Debra winning first prize wasn't the main reason for it featuring but, hey, all publicity is good publicity and every home in the borough isn't to be sniffed at...
Next year we'll move it onto a full charity-fundraising basis so maybe it will graduate to a half page article or something and that Debra comes back to defend her crown in the year of the Olympics!
